Ingredients

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 plus 2/3 cup butter,melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 ounce chocolate chips

Directions

Makes about 48 squares

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the flour, 1 cup of the brown sugar, and a half cup of the butter in a mixing bowl. Mix well and press into an ungreased 9x13 inch baking pan.

Sprinkle the top of the crust evenly with the pecans. Combine the remaining two thirds cup butter and a half cup of the brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring, for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour evenly over the pecans.

Bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top and allow them to melt. Spread to cover the surface. Cool and cut into squares.
